in order to allow the color to be available at start-of-production

** A total of 5 Z28 Coupes were built in the 1999 model year in color
63U Sport Gold metallic. While Sport Gold was discontinued near
the end of the model run in 1998, a contract had been signed between
Chevrolet and Days Inn for a sweepstakes where the final prize was
a Sport Gold Z28 Coupe. While the sweepstakes ran in the spring
and summer of '98, the contract specified a 1999 Z28. Thus Ste.
Therese built 5 1999s for this sweepstakes. Two units were given
away, the other three were driven by GM executives and then disposed
of through the GM auction system.
